Seagrass may look unassuming, yet these meadows are a nursery for marine life. Its secret benefits to us and our environment weigh beyond your imagination! Although seagrass meadows are important to us and the environment, they are facing alarming declines due to coastal threats which require our immediate help! 

The last talk was cancelled due to typhoon. The museum has again invited Dr. Katie Watson, a marine scientist from the Swire Institute of Marine Science at the University of Hong Kong (HKU SWIMS) to share her research and conservation experience on seagrasses. This talk delves into the challenges and successes of seagrass conservation, the cutting-edge science driving restoration, and the role of local communities in safeguarding Hong Kong’s seagrass meadows.
